Country guide: Brazil
Brazil's flag
Coach: Carlos Alberto Parreira

Tactics: Outright attack from wide and down the middle.

Star Player: Ronaldinho - the European Player of the Year is at his dazzling best in this star-studded team.

Verdict: Have the capability of blowing away any side in the world. Ronaldinho, Kaka, Adriano, Ronaldo and Robinho can all turn a match on their own and together they provide an array of options. Doubts persist about the defence, with Bayern Munich's Lucio the key man. Failure to reach the final would come as a major surprise given their vast resources.

I just arrived at the hotel in Dortmund, where we’ll be playing against Ghana. It was a fast bus trip. It’s very close. We trained this afternoon, and after dinner we met with coach Parreira before the trip. We’re all eager to start playing. I can’t wait to get on the field.
